Maui Mojito Ernest Hemingway savored them at the Mojito's place of birth: La Bodeguita del Medio in Havana, Cuba. Since that time the “little mojo” has travelled the world and is now popular in Hawaii, with a couple of minor adaptations to local taste. Using the local rum and sugar from Maui makes the Mojito unforgettable. In a tall glass, muddle (crush) 3 to 4 fresh mint leaves Add one shot Maui Platinum Rum Add juice from one fresh lime, then 2 Teaspoons Maui Brand Sugar in the Raw (more or less according to taste) Stir vigorously for several minutes until sugar dissolves Add ice cubes Add two ounces club soda Stir gently Garnish with sprig of mint Enjoy in moderation and with much Aloha! Maui Mai Tai The original Mai Tai, created in 1944 by California restaurateur Trader Vic Bergeron, migrated to Hawa'i and is now our most popular rum drink! Since Trader Vic was making it for Tahitian guests (who named it using the Tahitian words “mai tai”, which mean “very good” in English) the Polynesian spirit reins supreme, especially when made with genuine local spirits from Haleakala Distillers. Pour 1/2 oz. Maui Platinum Rum plus 1/2 oz. Maui Gold Rum plus 1/2 oz.Braddah Kimo's Extreme 155 Rum over shaved ice (crushed ice if no shaved available); Add juice from one fresh lime and a splash of pomegranate juice; then add: 1/2 ounce Orange Curacao. 3 Tablespoons Maui Brand Sugar in the Raw 1/2 ounce Orgeat Syrup Shake vigorously! Pour into cored pineapple. Float ½ oz. Maui Dark Rum on top Garnish with lime wedge and mint sprig. This is a strong 4-Rum cocktail. Please enjoy in moderation and with much Maui Aloha!
